As we come to the end of the year it is customary to reflect on the year that has passed. 2018 has been a wonderful though challenging year for Virginia landscapes. The weather gave us an abundance of moisture which promoted good growth but also promoted the growth of many fungal diseases.

Most of these diseases were just seasonal diseases which took advantage of the conditions and will likely not cause further problems next year if the weather is closer to what we call “normal”. The exception to this was Boxwood Blight which exploded in the area in large part because of the continuous rains. The good news in all this moisture is that most plants will do well this winter and come out strong in the spring.

Christmas is a special time when we think about family and friends. We think of our relationship with you as more than a customer, you are our friends and family. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for your business. The continued confidence you have placed in our company is greatly appreciated and we want you to know it has been our pleasure to serve you and help you with your gardening goals this past year.

Let us always remember that Christmas is a time when we celebrate God’s amazing love for mankind as He gave the world the wonderful gift of His son Jesus Christ. The birth of Christ, which we celebrate at Christmas, is the pivotal point in world history when love came down to heal a fallen world, give hope to all and transform hearts and lives.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with peace, prosperity and successful gardening. May the love of Christ and the joy of the season be with you through the next year, from all of us at Big O Tree and Lawn Service.
